To the Editor,
Where is James C. Sheehan when we need him? As you will recall, it was during the second Trump impeachment that then state Sen. James C. Sheehan wrote passionately about the need to preserve our Constitution. Regarding Mr. Trump, he sternly reminded us that No man is above the law (Loyalty to the President should not supersede the Constitution, Jan. 9, 2020).
Mr. Sheehan railed against those who might allow partisan politics to interfere with defending and upholding the constitution. He was especially critical of Republican Leader Mitch McConnells lack of impartiality in judging President Trumps conduct.
Although I viewed the two Democrat led impeachments as partisan efforts first to overturn the 2016 election and second to prevent Trump from running again, I believed Mr. Sheehan was an honorable man genuinely concerned about justice being done.
But that was then. We now have a Democrat President who is flaunting the rule of law. He has not secured our southern border. His eviction moratorium violates the right to private property. These are both impeachable offenses.
Much to my chagrin, we have not heard a word of protest from Mr. Sheehan. He has been silent about Mr. Bidens brazen abuse of power.
I still believe that James C. Sheehan is an honorable man. That is why, to help him avoid the appearance of hypocrisy, I urge Mr. Sheehan to join me, as a fellow patriot, in calling out President Biden for his dereliction of duty and betrayal of his solemn constitutional oath of office.
