Thanks to grants from the Rhode Island Foundation, the Pontiac Village playground will soon have a range of equipment designed for toddlers to adults seeking to keep fit. On Saturday the Pontiac Village Neighborhood Association hosted the debut of playground equipment designed for children 2 to 5 years old made possible with an $8,400 grant. Association president Patricia Picinich said a second grant of $5,000 would be used for the purchase of adult exercise equipment. The yard already has equipment for older children. Following a ribbon cutting – snipping yellow caution tape – attended by Mayor Frank Picozzi and Ward 8 Councilman Anthony Sinapi,  Felicity Picinich Revill, 4, and Jessica Furtado, 2, took to the kiddie slide under the watchful eye of grandma Picinich. The event was followed by coffee, hot chocolate and cookies in the Pontiac station house with crafts for the kids. Seen working on his wreath, the rim of a paper plate to which he glued colored paper and ornaments is Jayce Paucar. (Warwick Beacon photos)
