AAA Northeast Executive Vice President Stephen Manty and Mayor Frank Picozzi signed a 15-year lease for the Sawtooth Building in Apponaug as the annex to Warwick City Hall. Built in 1907 as part of the Apponaug Mill, Manty said AAA expects to have the building built out to meet the city's specifications and ready for occupancy by spring of 2022. The building will also house an AAA office with about 25 employees. Initially, AAA had planned to use the full building, but the pandemic changed plans for a call center. Manty said AAA employs 3,500 and has 6.1 million members. Leasing the building will cost the city less than either renovating the annex that was closed because of a burst water pipe in 2018 or building a new on. (Warwick Beacon photo)
