Curbside crew

Despite the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, Red Nose Day in Johnston was a smashing success due to the creative efforts of Bar 101’s Jamie Beaulieu, owner Pete Matteo and Kristy Pistacchio, who manages the national sponsoring Walgreens on Plainfield Pike. Last Thursday’s four-hour event, which was entitled “Curbside for a Cause” to help stamp out child poverty, raised a tidy sum of $1,000 that thrilled Pistacchio and Team Walgreens Johnston. Here, Pistacchio holds the Bar 101 sign as Matteo looks on. They’re joined by Alicia Mekuto, MaryEllen Dolman, Chef Jamie Beaulieu, Krystal Lopes and Jessica Breffini. The second photo includes Pistacchio, Breffini, Dolman, Mekuto and Lopes, who are Walgreens employees who volunteered to hand-carry dinner orders to people who waited in their cares outside Bar 101. Likewise, Kelsey Lemoine and Brittany Tripp, who work at Bar 101, provided valuable assistance during the event by taking telephone order for Chef Beaulieu’s delicious chicken dinners with all the fixings including homemade pasta with marinara sauce.
