Mike Martineau and Dave Glaude make for a fishing team on Friday, which offered perfect conditions to launch their boat from the ramp at Passeonkquis Cove. They steer for the “boils” of feeding blues accompanied by diving gulls feeding off the baitfish driven to the surface. And they catch plenty of fish. But more than anything they’re great for stories such as the one Dave had over the $20 plug he handed to Mike. Mike immediately got several hits, but was unable to hook up. Finally, a blue bit the line and the plug was gone. Remarkably, sometime later they found the plug floating on the surface. Upon close examination, Mike found he had failed to take the plastic guards off the treble hooks. But that was all right for Dave who releases all his catches. Mike, on the other hand, keeps the occasional striper. (Warwick Beacon photos)
