A birthday and a fundraiser

Mayor Frank Picozzi was surprised Monday to find a birthday display in front of City Hall in his honor courtesy of Happy Sign RI. He was impressed by the display that included Christmas lights – after all Picozzi is renowned for his digital Christmas display – his love of pizza and even a carpenter armed with all the tools. The display moved with the mayor as the day went on. It appeared on the lawn of the Tri-City Elks on West Shore Road that evening where Picoizzi held his first fundraiser since being elected mayor. More than 200 tickets at $50 were sold for the event that included a meal with a wide selection of tasty offerings including pizza with pineapple, Picozzi’s favorite, of course. He is pictured here with Mark and Tricia McKenney whose daughters Caitlin and Cara played in the Apponaug Girls Softball League where Picozzi coached and served as president. (Warwick Beacon photos)
