The Johnston girls basketball team rebounded after dropping back to back games by beating Juanita Sanchez 53-29 last Friday night.
Alanna Colon led the Panthers with 17 points while both Bella Gesualdi and Marissa Morsilli added 15.
The Panthers improved to 3-7 in divisional play and 4-8 overall with the victory. Johnston hosted Rogers on Wednesday, but the results were unavailable at press time. Johnston will next hit the road to take on Scituate on Friday night.
BOYS HOCKEY
Ponaganset 4, Coventry/Johnston 2
The Coventry/Johnston boys hockey co-op is looking to snap its recent skid after falling most recently to Ponaganset last week.
The game was tied 2-2, but the Chieftains would find the back of the net twice in the final minutes of regulation to pick up the win. Coventry/Johnston fell to 1-7 overall with the loss and will next be taking on North Kingstown this Saturday night.
