After a pandemic hiatus, the FIRST Tech Challenge hosted by the New England Institute of Technology with 27 teams competing was up and running Saturday. The challenge is geared for students grades 7-12 who design, build and program robots to compete in an alliance format against each other. The event features center rings where robots are faced with completing a series of tasks with a given time. Warwick teams competing were from Hendricken and Pilgrim. Pictured with their robot are Pilgrim team members Josh Miller, Jordan Pennacchia, Elin Xiong, Harold Brown, Alex Hany, Julian Flynn and coaches Dan Martini and Nick Leland. Not pictured is longtime Pilgrim coach Larry West. The Wheeler School team won the event. (Warwick Beacon photos)
