Lady Pats, Titans receive RIGSCA awards

FROM STAFF REPORTS The Rhode Island Girls Soccer Coaches Association recently unveiled its award winners for the 2021 fall season and many locals were recognized for their performances.

Pilgrim’s Alanna Coffie and Sarah Lynch were each named First Team All-State, while keeper Janelle Mixner was named to the second team. Toll Gate’s Olivia Dutra was named Second Team All-State as well.

Amelia Murphy was also named to the third team for Pilgrim.

Pilgrim’s Dasani Stewart and Gillian Brown were each named to the All-Division I First Team, while teammate Keira Ramsden was named to the All-Division I Second Team and Amaya Coffie the third team. Riley Bromage was named the Alice Sullivan Award winner for perseverance, while Lindsay Flanders was named to the All-Academic Team.

Dutra and teammate Adeline Areson were each named to the All-Division II First Team, while Toll Gate’s Kara Yelman, Madison Clark and Morgan Caianiello were named to the second team. Brooklyn Marinelli was named to the third team for the Titans.

Meghan Carreiro was named Toll Gate’s Alice Sullivan recipient, while Haley Randall was part of the All-Academic team.

Lynch was also named to the United Soccer Coaches Association’s All-New England and All-American teams, while Pilgrim’s Tom Flanders was named the Large School RI Coach of the Year.
