The Rhode Island Historical Records Advisory Board (RIHRAB) announces continuing education funding opportunities for 2021 in partnership with the National Historical Publications and Records Commission (NHPRC) to provide support for continuing education in archival studies.

Scholarships of up to $1,000 will be awarded to qualified applicants for educational sessions in archives management and preservation in person or to attend professional conferences, sessions, or other learning opportunities virtually.

Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until Dec. 1, 2021. Preference will be given for courses that occur between July 1, 2021 and Dec. 31, 2021. Funds may be used for conference or session registration fees and other related costs.

Scholarship recipients will be required to submit a short blog post for the RIHRAB website to be shared with the Rhode Island archival community, as well as give a brief virtual presentation (5-10 minutes) to the RI Historical Records Advisory Board in February 2022 summarizing their experiences, and how they intend to apply their learning.

Archivists, students, and information professionals in Rhode Island seeking professional development in archives are encouraged to apply. Requests for tuition assistance will not be considered.

To apply for a continuing education funding, please follow the instructions and fill out the application available at rihrab.com.
