FELONY FORGERY & COUNTERFEITING
On Nov. 22 around 5:50 p.m., officers arrested Charles Summers, 46, of 201 Miller St., Fall River, Massachusetts, after a report of a man attempting to pass a fraudulent check in the amount of $1,806 at Bank RI, 1450 Hartford Ave. Summers was placed under arrest for Felony Forgery and Counterfeiting in General and Obtaining Money Under False Pretenses.
DUI
On Nov. 18 around 5:49 p.m., an officer conducted a motor vehicle stop after observing a driver on his cell phone while traveling westbound on Hartford Avenue. The driver, identified as Alessandro Baccari, 31, of 1163 Wordens Pond Road, Charlestown, consented to a series of standardized field sobriety tests.
Baccari was transported to Johnston Police Headquarters where he refused to submit to a chemical test. He was issued a summons for Mobile Telephone Usage By Motor Vehicle Operator and Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test and charged with Driving Under The Influence – BAC unknown.
BREAKING AND ENTERING
On Nov. 5 at 9:20 a.m., police responded to Pizza Palace, 1583 Plainfield St., for the report of a possible breaking and entering. The reporting party said someone threw a large rock through a rear window of the business. Security camera footage shows the suspect using a pizza knife to break open the cash register.
On Nov. 22, Johnston Police responded to the Providence Police Department to transport Joseph Sullivan Smith, 37, of 315 Park Ave., Cranston, who had an active warrant from Johnston Police Department. He was charged with Breaking and Entering and Larceny Under $1500.
