Paula Ann Buckley, 85, of Marlborough, MA died after a brief illness on June 12, 2022. She was a longtime resident of Johnston and North Scituate. She was the daughter of George Kanis and Mabel Higham Kanis of Johnston.
Born in Providence, in addition to raising her children she worked for several years as a volunteer coordinator and staff assistant to Congresswoman Claudine Schneider, and later enjoyed working as a school lunch lady.
Predeceased by her husband James E. Buckley and her son James E. Buckley Jr, she is survived by her daughter Paula Diemer and her husband George of Marlborough, MA and her son Patrick Buckley of Providence, as well as her four grandsons Jacob and Joshua Buckley and their mother Darlene Buckley, and Patrick and Christopher Vicca and their mother Lori Vicca. She was the sister of Leo Kanis of Warwick, Jacquelyn Kanis of Peace Dale, and the late Edwin Kanis.
She enjoyed baseball, music, local theater, reading, sun and good food.
