This is reading week, so who better to get to read to the three first grade classes at Warwick Neck Elementary School than the number one state leader, Gov. Dan McKee. McKee read the book “One,” a story of colors and how they were bullied by red until the number one came along and the colors changed to numbers including red who joined the group. In addition to the students, school and local official including Mayor Frank Picozzi welcome the governor to Warwick. Naturally, McKee had questions for the kids. He asked how many cities and towns are in Rhode Island and asked the kids to start naming them. When he said how many had been in his home town of Cumberland, one student enthusiastically raised her hand. “Yes,” she said, “I’ve been to Cumberland Farms.” (Warwick Beacon photos)
