ON BEHALF OF OSDRI: Retired Air Force Capt. Erik Wallin, OSDRI Executive Director, thanks the Park View Community and all who participated in the race for their continued support of Operation Stand Down Rhode Island.
SALUTING THE FLAG: As the “Star Spangled Banner” played and the CHSE JROTC honor and color guards stood at attention, those in attendance including honored veterans and their families, saluted the flag.
IN HONOR OF PAUL: Cranston High School East’s Alexis Franco received the inaugural Paul Bucci Community Service Scholarship from Coach Dina Cesana during a ceremony at the race.

The ninth annual Park View Veterans Day 5K Run/Walk and 1 Mile Kids Run was held on Nov. 11 at Roger Williams Park. The event is designed to bring honor and recognition to Veterans Day and proceeds from the event will benefit programs for the school and Operation Stand Down Rhode Island. The first 500 entries received t-shirts and there was post-race food and beverages served for attendees.
