(a spiritual text from his students)
You covered our flank while storming up front
Stopping the buck, you’d take the brunt
For the low, the downtrodden, the heroes, the goats
the loners, the slackers and the ones who ride floats
You were always there in the thick of the fray

A belated thank you is what we all send
At Vets and Pilgrim, the flags will fly low
But the stars up in heaven have brightened their glow
We’ll miss you Habs ... and vow to be kind
Your ballad will yoke us and stay in our mind
God sculpted you Habs ”to help out us kids”
And your spirit will guide us in spite of our skids
