Foot-related problems due to high blood sugars can greatly increase the risk of infections, loss of feeling and possible amputation. What can you do to avoid these foot complications and keep your feet healthy?
Our support group gives you the opportunity to get things off your chest. Sharing your own experiences with the group can help ease your emotional burden and feelings. As others in the group share their stories, you can gain valuable insight about
how others deal with similar situations.
Join us for our monthly education and support group. Facilitated by INSIGHT staff, these open monthly meetings generally include a presentation on a topic related to living independently with vision loss as well as the opportunity to ask questions and seek support from the group. The group is free and open to anyone who is living with vision loss as well as family and friends.
Farmers markets have fruit and vegetables at the peak of the growing season. This means produce is at its freshest and tastes the best. Shopping at a farmers market also supports your local farmers and keeps money you spend on food closer to your community. If you have any food vouchers, be sure to bring them with you. Come in and join the class that is designed especially for the older adults. This workout is for all fitness levels and will provide you with an excellent cardiovascular workout.
A low-impact physical activity that will help you keep joints flexible and muscles strong, sleep better, increase energy and improve your overall outlook. Space is limited. Call 780-6000 to register.

Need relief from arthritis pain or just want to be active? Come join our walking group. Three mornings a week we will walk the Cranston High School West walking track. You are not competing with anyone except yourself. You can walk for 10 minutes
or an hour. Check-in is at 9 a.m. An orientation is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 9, at 10:30 a.m. at the center. To register call

You can participate in a self-directed “Walk With Ease” program. You can walk alone or with a friend. The goal is to walk on 18 different days. You have until Oct. 22.You can walk wherever you are comfortable and for as long as you want. What matters is that you exercise by walking. To register, call 780-6000. We will send you additional information and a log that you will return when you have completed the program.
