To be eligible, you must meet the following conditions: be 65 years of age or older and/or disabled; have lived in Rhode Island for the entire calendar year 2020; have a household income of $30,000 or less; have lived in a household or rented a dwelling that was subject to property taxes; be current on property tax and rent payments.
Medicines are used to treat or prevent illnesses or disease. Sometimes, however, these medicines may cause problems – adverse drug reactions. Learn how to recognize the risks and avoid them.
Some advantages of joining a support group: a chance to share common experiences; learning coping strategies; receiving affirmation that attending to your own needs is vital; forming friendships to help avoid isolation; the opportunity to help others.

Yoga can be a gateway to a healthier life. Yoga addresses the many challenges that we face as we grow older, including sore joints, stress, muscle tension, flexibility and balance.
Beginning in May, two different yoga classes will be offered at the center. Choose what works for you.
Tuesdays, 10 to 11 a.m. Fee: $2.
Chair yoga is a great way for older adults to get the wonderful health benefits of yoga. Staying seated means that even frail seniors or those who aren’t flexible can safely do the exercises.
Fridays, 10 to 11 a.m. Fee: $3.
By the time we reach our 60s, it sometimes feels like we have a lifetime of tension locked in our bodies. On the inside we may feel young and vibrant, but on the outside we feel more than a little stiff, tired and out of shape. Make time now for YOU! Mat yoga will help relieve stress, cultivate a clear mind, and build a strong body.
