Coventry and Johnston dropped the puck as one of the state’s newest boys hockey co-ops. The team began its first season shortly before the holiday break and is in a crowded Division II group this winter.
Coventry-Johnston hosted the Cranston co-op in the season opener and fell in an 8-3 decision. The team had three different players score goals in the loss, as Ralph Turner, Collin King and Hunter Azar lit the lamp.
Turner and Evan Rogers registered assists while goalie Abby Enos racked up eight saves in net.
The team returned to action last Saturday when it hosted Lincoln in its first contest coming off the holiday break. The team will next face Toll Gate-East Greenwich on Friday, before turning around to have a rematch with the Lions on Saturday.
