It’s been at least five years since Matt Tremblay assumed the role of ensuring Conimicut basket and ground planters get the water they need to brighten the village. In all, there are 15 flowering baskets and 15 ground planters. Since July 1, Tremblay has watered the plants in the morning and again in the evening with almost a gallon per arrangement at each watering.  And he’s met some good people literally by accident. He was recently in the middle of Grace Avenue and West Shore Road intersection when a woman driver turned into his watering cart. Tremblay saw it coming and jumped clear, but the cart was crushed. A witness cleared the cart, bringing it to his garage and by the following morning, the husband of the driver had a new cart.  The setup that includes a battery-powered pump and 25-gallon water tank was up and running.  Tremblay didn’t skip a watering and as he concludes, “There are some really nice people here.” (Warwick Beacon photo)
