BREAKING AND ENTERING

Patrolman David Galligan and other officers responded to a breaking-and-entering in progress on the afternoon of Jan. 17.

Galligan said that, while en route, communications personnel reported that one of the female suspects had been detained. Communications also reported that a vehicle fled the scene, driven by a male operator with a female passenger.

Upon arrival, Galligan said he detained a woman identified as Emily Gomez, 37, 300 Douglas Ave., Providence. Galligan said a party advised him that a white vehicle was observed driving by the residence. The man said the vehicle stopped in front of the residence at which time the party went outside to confront the occupants due to recent breaking-and-entering incidents.

As the man approached the vehicle, it fled the scene. He then observed that the front door of the first-floor apartment was partially ajar. Galligan reported that the man said, as he entered the apartment, he observed Gomez placing television remotes in her pockets.

Galligan said that based on that statement, and the fact he saw several remotes sticking out of her front jacket pockets, she was placed under arrest without incident. He wrote that a search incident to arrest revealed four TV removes in her front jacket pockets and two receipts to Fall River Pawn Brokers. One receipt was for a 55-inch TV, which was previously reported stolen, and the other for a subwoofer/sound bar that was also previously reported stolen from that address.

Gomez was charged with felony counts of breaking and entering and conspiracy. She was later arraigned and released on $15,000 personal recognizance with a pre-arraignment conference date of April 8 at Sixth Division District Court.

On Feb. 11, detectives Thomas Dwyer and Seth D. Crosby responded to 360 Sharon St. in Providence in an attempt to locate Kristen Miguel, 25. The resident allowed them entry and said that he was not sure if she was there.

The detectives found Miguel in the kitchen hiding, and she was taken into custody without incident on two felony counts of breaking and entering. Crosby said two additional warrants were located during a RILETS check – one out of the Pawtucket Police Department for larceny and another out of Sixth Division District Court for failure to appear for arraignment.

Miguel was arraigned and had her surety bail set at $3,000 with a pre-arraignment conference date of May 6. She was also issued $5,000 surety bail for violating another case.

On March 12, Detective Mark A. Bairos responded to the Intake Service Center to process Steven Shola, 50, 360 Sharon St., Providence. Bairos noted that Shola was taken into custody by Rhode Island State Police on March 5. The officer said was arraigned the next day on felony charges of breaking and entering and conspiracy out of the Johnston Police Department, and he is being held as a bail violator.

WARRANT

Patrolman David Galligan responded to 1410 Atwood Ave. on the afternoon of March 5 for a report of a motor vehicle accident with no injuries.

Galligan said a RILETS check on one of the operators involved – identified as Michael A. Galuppo, 52, 351 Simmonsville Ave., Johnston – revealed that he was wanted on an active Cumberland Police Department arrest warrant for two counts of embezzlement/conversion over $100.

Galuppo was taken into custody without incident and transported to headquarters. He was later processed and turned over to Cumberland Police.
