Joy Barbara (DiBiasio) Scacco, 91, of Johnston, RI passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, August 28 at the Hope Health Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence after a brief illness.

Born in Providence she was the daughter of the late Ernesto and Elisa (DeCurtis) DiBiasio. She graduated from Mount Pleasant High School in 1947 and worked for the New England Phone Company. Later she worked for her family’s business, The Providence Tile Company. She volunteered as a Cub Scout den mother for pack 10 Cranston, RI. She often reminisced about all of her lovely “student children” who touched her life and grew into wonderful adults. Joy loved square dancing, camping, the Boston Red Sox, PC Friar Basketball and sitting by the ocean.

She leaves behind her dear husband Anthony where they shared their home in Johnston for 69 years together. Her two sons: Anthony R. Scacco of Cranston and his friend Audy Coffin; James M. Scacco and his wife Diane of Scituate. Her beloved two grandchildren: James M. Scacco Jr. and Anna J. Scacco of Scituate whom she absolutely adored and cherished. She was the sister of Alice DiBiasio of Johnston, Eileen Kennedy of Providence, the late Pasco, Joseph, Ernest DiBiasio and Gemma Masucci. She was also the sister in law of Betty White, Terri DiBiasio, Louis Masucci, Marie DiBiasio and the late Vincent Scacco, Eleanor DiBiasio, Robert Kennedy and Wallace White. She also leaves several nieces and nephews.

A special thank you to her wonderful caregiver friends Virginia Dube and Becky Berrigan who made her laugh every day!
