Joining the fight

Posted

On Friday, Oct. 16, Johnston Senior High School participated in Pink Out Day, which is a school-wide event where teachers, faculty and staff dress up in pink to raise awareness for breast cancer.

This kicked off their first of many spirit days they’ll hold throughout the school year. In the fight against breast cancer, it is a way for the school community to express their solidarity and stand together.

In addition to dressing down in pink, students and staff donated what they to the fundraiser. From these donations, $185 was raised. This money will go to the Gloria Gemma Foundation, which provides free services to families that are being affected by breast cancer. (Story by Lola Alarapon)
