She’s everywhere.

The village stores.

The Farmer’s Market.

The Emerald Frog.

The Pawtuxet General Popup.

The Pawtuxet General Podcast.

Jess Watts is a daughter of Edgewood/Pawtuxet. She lives, eats and breathes everything about the community.

Working for three years at the former Little Falls Bakery, volunteering at the Farmer’s Market and frequently being seen in the village, Jess is as much a part of the area as Rhodes on the Pawtuxet.

Podcaster. Baker. Photographer. Writer. Voice Over.

Jess has recently combined her talents to bring Pawtuxet General to life.

You will currently find her around 2154 Broad St. in the heart of the village every Saturday morning, selling local products like cheese from Edgewood Cheese shop, nuts from Virginia Peanuts, local baked goods and crafts, and who knows what.

Her podcast has over 3,500 listeners and is growing daily, airing historical gems and current facts about Pawtuxet, including some never before heard ghost stories.

Her pop-up charcuterie attracts families out for a walk who engage in conversation, listen to Jess extol the wonders of her unique communities. They may even buy something.

Jess has many ideas and plans for expanding Pawtuxet General.

She has made arrangements with Edgewood Congregational Church, where many years ago she attended Sunday School, to use their kitchen to bake and cook. On the menu will be chicken pot pies, meat pies and cuisine familiar to the area.

“I just found a recipe for quahaug pies that I’m dying to try.”
