HRSA honors Tri-County Health Centers with quality award

The Tri-County Health Center will receive more than $108,000 in Quality Improvement Award funds from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), an Agency of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). The Quality Improvement Award was part of nearly $107 million that was awarded to Health Centers across the country.

HRSA’s Quality Improvement Awards recognize health centers that ranked within the top 1-2% of performance measures that look to address health priorities including behavioral health, diabetes management and prevention, and heart health. In addition to the funding award, Tri-County Health Center was recognized as a Health Center Quality Leader, which further recognizes the top performing 30% of health centers overall.

“At Tri-County, we believe that every individual has the right to high quality health care, regardless of financial status,” said Joseph R. DeSantis, President and CEO of Tri-County. “We are constantly improving our health centers to ensure we have the resources and the expertise you need to get you back to good health.”

“Nearly all HRSA-funded health centers have demonstrated improvement in their clinical quality measures reflecting HRSA’s strong commitment to providing high value health care,” said HRSA Administrator Tom Engels. “Health centers serve approximately 1 in 11 people nationally. These awards will support health centers as they continue to be a primary medical home for communities around the country. Today, nearly 1,400 health centers operate nearly 13,000 service delivery sites nationwide.” The Quality Improvement Awards also recognize health center achievements in other areas, such as including cost-efficient care delivery, reducing health disparities, advancing the use of health information technology and delivering patient-centered care. Tri-County excelled in advancing access to health care, reducing healthcare disparities, leading health center quality initiatives, advancing health information technology and delivering patients-centered care.

Tri-County will use the Quality Improvement Award funds to further enhance health center data capture, reporting and analytics capabilities, and to continue their work on quality improvement initiatives.
