Without leaving the school campus, Hendricken students were able to gather information and meet with representatives from 112 college and universities from across the country last Friday. Canceled last year because of the pandemic, both students and college representatives were excited to be meeting face-to-face although wearing masks. This was the 55th year the school has held a college fair. “The investment and sacrifice parents make to send their sons to Bishop Hendricken is great,” said Mark DeCiccio ’03, principal, in a release. “Our college fair is proof that investment is worth it. Hendricken men are a different caliber of student to colleges, and that’s why they want to be on campus each year to meet them.” Casey Clemetsen, admission counselor at Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, reinforced DeCiccio’s appraisal. From her table at the gym floor, she said the fair was “pretty busy” for a school of Hendricken’s size. And why? “It’s a good school,” she answered. She said Saint Joseph’s is looking to recruit a freshman class of 1,040 and that she expects the university to receive 8,000 to 10,000 applications.
