The Bishop Hendricken, Pilgrim, Cranston East and West outdoor track and field teams competed on Monday at Hendricken and plenty of locals had big performances on the afternoon.
Here is a look at some of the results:
Hendricken would top West (134-16), East (149-1), and Pilgrim (142-8) to sweep the boys side. West topped East (103-29) and Pilgrim (109-23). East earned a win over Pilgrim (78-30).
Manny Soler won the 110 high hurdles for West while Jake Naiefeh won the 300 for the Hawks. Pilgrim’s Alex Pinheiro would take home a first-place finish in the 100 dash at 11.3 seconds.
Joel Felix took first for Hendricken in the 200, while Nick DiFazio took first in the 400 for West. Evan McGregor won the 800 for Hendricken, while teammate Wilson Jablonski won the 1,500. Hendricken’s Will Olsen later won the 3,000. Matt Steele took home a win in the long jump for the Hawks as well as the triple jump.
Christian Morello won the pole vault for Hendricken while Josiah Nhar won the pole vault. Teammate Blessjoey Nyanneh won the shot put and hammer throw for the Hawks. Steve Faccenda won the discus throw for the Falcons while Hendricken’s Peter Cummings won the javelin.
