Happy days were here again

PINK LADIES: Wearing pink to the Sock Hope were the organizers from the St. Mary’s Feast Society Ladies’ Auxiliary. DANCE WINNERS: David and Mary Ann Scardera, who performed the Jitterbug, were the winners of the Sock Hop dance competition.

POODLES: A very popular outfit for women in the 50s and 60s was poodle skirts. Modeling theirs at the Sock Hop were Diane Gentile, Lynda Nardolillo, Susan Ruggieri and Pat Greene.

A CLASSIC: The St. Mary’s Feast Society Ladies’ Auxiliary held a Sock Hop on April 23 with Classic Blend providing the music. Band members were Ron Giorgio, Ronnie Iacobucci, Peter Goneconte, Jack Mento and Maria Russo.

PACKED HOUSE: Sock Hop was filled with guests having a great time on April 23.

On the evening of April 23, the St. Mary’s Feast Society Ladies’ Auxiliary held a Sock Hop to raise funds for the yearly St. Mary’s Feast.

Guests put on their poodle skirts and men came with jeans rolled up; these were some of the costumes worn.

Classic Blend provided live music and brought the tunes of the 50s and 6os into the venue. A buffet dinner was served and a cash bar was available. (Herald photos by Steve Popiel)
