Ferri students have been asked to build a storybook inspired gingerbread house, using homemade gingerbread, store-bought gingerbread, foam or cardboard for the base. Students can use any kind of materials to decorate the house.

Each house must be inspired by one of the following book series: Willy Wonka, Harry Potter, Babysitters Club, or the Jan Brett Series. Wheaton said there’s also an option to make a Ferri Middle School inspired gingerbread house.

The houses will be on display in the middle school library from Dec. 8-15.

On Dec. 15, prizes will be awarded in the following categories: Most Detailed, Crowd Favorite and Principal’s Pick.
