Gas prices nudge up another cent

Rhode Island’s average gas price is up 1 cent from last week, averaging $3.42 per gallon. Monday’s price is 7 cents higher than a month ago, and $1.35 higher than November 22, 2020. Rhode Island’s average gas price is 2 cents higher than the national average.

“The price of crude oil accounts for about 50%–60% of what consumers pay at the pump, so a lower oil price could eventually translate into better gasoline prices for drivers,” said Lloyd Albert, Senior Vice President of Public and Government Affairs at AAA Northeast.

AAA Northeast’s November 22 survey of fuel prices found the current national average to be 1 cent lower than last week, averaging $3.40 a gallon.
