Free zoo admission on Dec. 27

Posted

To celebrate National Visit the Zoo Day, Roger Williams Park Zoo is offering free admission to all on Friday, December 27 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The zoo family encourages every visitor to share the holiday spirit with the community by bringing non-perishable food items to benefit the Rhode Island Community Food Bank between 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Cardi's s Furniture & Mattresses is generously donating a truck and staff to help collect all food items and deliver everything to the RI Food Bank. Look for the Cardi's truck in the zoo's main parking lot.

Dr. Jeremy Goodman, executive director of the zoo says, "This is the fourth year we have worked with the Rhode Island Food Bank to collect food needed by so many of our neighbors. "Community" is one of the zoo's seven core values and we are so happy to be able to give back to our community during the holiday season."

While it may be on the cooler side for some humans, many of the animals at Roger Williams Park Zoo enjoy the refreshing temperatures including the adorable red pandas, captivating snow leopards, and delightful moon bears all on the Marco Polo Trail. For those who like the warmer climate, a visit in Faces of the Rainforest to spend time with playful monkeys, sleepy sloths, giant river otters and the ever-boisterous hyacinth macaws is like a trip to the tropics.

There is no better way to close out 2019 than visiting Roger Williams Park Zoo for free - while also taking care of each other in Rhode Island.
