Forand bazaar a neighborhood tradition

Posted

On Saturday, Nov. 3, a steady stream of shoppers and diners made their way in and out of the Community Room at Aime J. Forand, a development of the Johnston Housing Authority. The annual bazaar has become a staple of not only the complex, but also the whole neighborhood. Tables were filled with handmade crafts, homemade baked goods and raffles as far as the eye could see. Beverly Williams, Aime J. Forand Tenant’s Association president, noted the enthusiasm and delight the resident community enjoys putting the bazaar together. “This event brings such joy to people who come in and the residents who work so hard to get this all together. And, our kitchen fare is a fan favorite. Some folks just come for our world famous sausage, pepper and onion subs,” she said. “All the money we raise goes directly to provide enriching activities and trips throughout the year.”
