Ferri offers 'signs' of pride

Matthew Tsonos, the principal at Nicholas A. Ferri Middle School, has enjoyed many special successes during his time there.

None, though, as people like Lisa Hunt will attest, were packed with more meaning than the ceremonies that Tsonos held last Friday morning outside the school while also following the strict social distancing rules.

Tsonos, who was joined by Assistant Principal Freddie Skipworth, Hunt and Nicki Aucone – who is running for the Miss Outstanding Teen RI crown – presented members of the Ferri School class of 2020 with specially made lawn signs that featured the school logo, mascot and colors.

“Matt loves doing things like this,” Hunt, who serves as the academic and behavioral interventionist at Ferri, offered as yet another car carrying a student pulled up in front of the school. “The students and their parents were very appreciative when Matt presented them with a lawn sign."
