To the Editor,
The YMCA has become my family.
Yesterday was my 80th birthday.
Henry passed away six months ago.
The leisure learning singing group was cancelled.
I went home with my lunch, ginger ale, PBJ sandwich, Chex mix and a brownie. My daughter was going to pick me up at 3.
Now all alone, sad, what do I do? So, I went to the Kent YMCA. Christy was having a staff meeting. She paused the meeting and they sang happy birthday to me – all 10 of them.
Now, I just want to thank them for being my family when I really needed them.
