Eleanor Williams (Sluiter) Dias, 95, of Warwick, passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at Kent Hospital. She was the loving wife of the late John Dias. Born in Patterson, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Raymond T. and Adelaide A. (Armstrong) Sluiter.
Eleanor graduated from St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing in 1947 and went on to serve as a Registered Nurse at St. Joseph’s Hospital until her retirement in 1989. She was a communicant of St. Catherine of Siena Parish in Warwick and a member of the St. Joseph Hospital Alumni Association.
She is survived by her beloved children, Norman Dias of Costa Mesa, CA, Kristine Dias of West Warwick and Donna Dias of Warwick, five grandchildren, Justin Hart, Garrett Dias, Gavin Dias, Megan Dias and John Michael Spelman and five great-grandchildren.
She was the sister of the late Thomas E. Sluiter of Pt. Orange, FL and the late A. Dorothy Nelson of Warwick.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday, February 6, 2023 at 10:45AM at St. Gregory the Great Church, 360 Cowesett Rd, Warwick. Interment followed at the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
