Edgewood Church partners with Project Undercover

For the month of July, Edgewood Congregational Church UCC is partnering with Project Undercover to provide needy families with new, unopened diapers (all sizes), new children’s socks and underwear (all sizes) and unopened baby wipes. Donations can be dropped off at the church Sunday mornings, Tuesdays during the day, Saturdays from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. and when the thrift store is open. Or, call, leave a message and we will pick up.

The need is great: one in three families struggle to afford diapers. Babies need six to 10 diapers per day, at a cost of $20 per week. And, programs like WIC/EBT do not provide diaper assistance. Project Undercover is committed to the idea that every child has the right to a clean, dry bottom. They provide diapers, socks, underwear and baby wipes to help the approximately 45,000 children throughout Rhode Island living in poverty.

As a nonprofit, Project Undercover can also purchase these essential items in bulk at a reduced rate, so the church is also encouraging cash donations. You can go on the church’s website and make a financial donation there. You can write a check directly to Project Undercover and drop it off at Edgewood Church or write a check to Edgewood Church and put “Project Undercover” in the memo line.

For more information on Project Undercover you can go to their website projectundercover.com.
