Dr. Jordan Hebert joined Care New England’s leadership team as the Medical Director of Robotic Surgery at Kent Hospital this week. Dr. Hebert, DO, is a board-certified, fellowship-trained minimally invasive surgeon with specialized clinical expertise in bariatric surgery, hernia repair, abdominal wall reconstruction, colon surgery, and antireflux procedures.

His extensive robotic surgery experience provides Rhode Islanders with advanced treatment options targeted to maximize outcomes.  Hebert strives to empower his patients with the information necessary to make well-informed decisions by helping them to navigate the vast array of surgical, and non-surgical, care options now available.

A true Rhode Island native, Hebert was born at Kent Hospital. He attended the Chariho school system in Richmond, prior to graduating with highest honors from the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, New York.   Hebert then earned his doctorate degree at the University of New England COM in Biddeford, Maine.  He subsequently completed internship through the Jefferson Health System in Stratford, New Jersey, followed by general surgery residency training with Hackensack Meridian Health PMC in North Bergen, New Jersey.  Hebert next further advanced his surgical expertise via fellowship at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, Maryland, earning certifications from both the Fellowship Council, as well as the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.

After rigorous training, Hebert returned to the Ocean State, bringing the most up-to-date minimally invasive surgical techniques to his hometown communities and beyond.  Committed to offering patents with care options that improve quality of life for the long-term, he is one of the few surgeons in the region trained to perform robotic abdominal wall reconstruction for patients with large complex hernias.   Hebert was also the first surgeon in the state of Rhode Island to perform magnetic sphincter augmentation surgery, utilizing the LINX reflux management system to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease.

Outside of patient care,  Hebert enjoys spending his spare time at the beach with his wife and children. His hobbies include sailing, skiing, volleyball, and automotive restoration.
