City Council President Steve McAllister has scheduled a special City Council meeting for Sept. 28 starting at 5 p.m. in Council Chambers to act on the tentative contract agreements with the Warwick Fraternal Order of Police and the Municipal Employees Union.
Police reached a tentative agreement in June and it appeared municipal employees would soon follow suit. That didn’t happen and only recently did the union membership vote to approve an agreement. Both contracts expired on June 30.
McAllister wanted to devote a meeting to the contracts and therefore waited until municipal employees voted on the agreement. He said the agreements would be forwarded to council members as well as fiscal notes when available.
