Costable named to RI Hospitality Education Foundation board

Warwick resident Vincent Costable has been appointed to the 2021 Board of Directors of the RI Hospitality Education Foundation (RIHEF).

Costable, a hospitality industry veteran of over 25 years, is the current District Sales Manager for Gordon Food Service in Rhode Island. Throughout his career, Costable has played an integral role in the personal and professional development of others, which sparked his desire to advance the growth of the industry and workforce through collaboration and communication. 

“Vincent’s vast experience in hospitality leadership and professional development roles make him a fantastic addition to our Board of Directors,” said Dale J. Venturini, President/CEO, RI Hospitality Association and RI Hospitality Education Foundation. “2021 presents many challenges as our industry hopefully returns to some semblance of ‘normal.’ Our newly-appointed board members will be an asset to RIHEF moving forward.”  

Costable began his career in hospitality in the kitchen, starting as a dishwasher before moving on to other roles including line cook, sous chef, executive chef and even front-of-the-house roles such as waiter and manager. Outside of the restaurant environment, he also gained valuable experience working as a salesperson, sales trainer and sales manager. . In 2013, he began his career at Gordon Food Service and was hand-picked as a district mentor within his first six months working there. Since then, Costable has been tasked with honoring, preserving and teaching the company’s “Cornerstone Values,” as well as planning and coordinating the training curriculum for all internal customers. 

The passionate hospitality professional earned his Associate of Arts in Culinary Arts/Chef Training at the Culinary Institute of America in 1999. He has received several awards including the “Support Person of the Year” in 2015, and was a Gold Club recipient in 2018. At Gordon Food Service, he’s been recognized with the “Winner’s Circle” award in 2014 and the “Team of the Year” award in 2015.
