Commanding respect

A short convention honoring members of the Disabled American Veterans, or DAV, was held at the Kelley Gazzerro Post in Cranston on Saturday, June 27. Due to the coronavirus and its restrictions, the huge convention that was scheduled in April had to be postponed, but new officers needed to be elected before August. Edward Napolitano was nominated and was unanimously elected, that gave him the position of DAV RI State Commander. Three other officers were also unanimously elected: Walter Coelho, State Senior Vice Commander; Michael Anderson 1st Junior Vice Commander; and Donna Coffin 2nd Junior Vice Commander.

The DAV is an organization to help veterans any way they can, including disabilities with the Veterans Administration.
