The Warwick Continental American and Warwick North Little Leagues got together to carry on their annual City Series last week, and WCA’s Greenwood Credit Union took the best-of-3 series by beating North’s DeGuilio’s Insurance in two games. Greenwood Credit Union finished its entire season with a perfect 19-0 record.

WCA won the first game 10-0. Dilan Murray pitched four innings, allowing only one hit. WCA’s offense surged to six runs in the fourth, all with two outs. Murray, Elijah Costello, Jimmy Louth, Cole Auclair, Ben Cameron, Alex Doucette and Teddy Mackowitz all had hits in the rally. Murray also hit a triple in the fifth inning for WCA. North pitcher Eli Shields held WCA to just two runs through the first three innings. Cameron earned the game ball in the win for WCA.

WCA took Game 2 by a score of 6-1. Auclair tossed four innings, allowing just one run. Charlie Mackowitz pitched the final two innings of relief. North pitcher Ethan Crouse tossed five innings and allowed just two runs heading into the fourth.

Louth, Auclair and Miller McGuinness jumpstarted a four-run rally in the fourth inning.

WCA’s Greenwood team will be saying bye to seven 12 year olds, including Louth, Charlie Mackowitz, Murray, Costello, Auclair, Miles Welch and Cole Rocha.

WCA’s AAA champion Balise Auto also earned a series win over North’s Big Blue Bug, getting a walk-off win in the third game of action.
