Celebrating a century today

Alice Davidson turns 100 years young today. Now a resident at All American Assisted Living on Toll Gate Road in Warwick, Alice grew up mostly in Wakefield, Rhode Island and graduated from South Kingstown High School. She was a Bookkeeper, Secretary, and Office Manager at Haslam Arnold & Sumpter, a law firm in Providence. Alice married her husband, Donald on September 9, 1950. Together they lived in Cumberland with their five children. Alice is widowed. She has seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She loves music and sang for many years at the Rhode Island Civic Chorale. She designed her Cumberland home and also founded a craft center in Cumberland. Alice likes to sew and write poetry. She is currently putting together a book of her poems. When asked what her secret is to living a long life, she replied, “Good genes.” (Photo courtesy of Amber Wolf)
