Special Olympics Rhode Island, Garden City Center and the Cranston Police Department supported Special Olympics Rhode Island this past Sunday by holding a Celebrate the movement 5k and Walkathon. Every dollar raised went directly to support the 3,000 athletes currently participating in Special Olympic Rhode Island’s year-round programs of sports training, athletic competitions, leadership and health. Individuals could participate in a 5k timed run through the neighborhoods of Garden City, a 5k untimed walk on the same running route, a half-mile stroll through Garden City Center or a virtual run, walk.
