Reenactor Mrs. Estelle Tucker Barada carried on a conversation Thursday afternoon at the Warwick Library seated at a table with a cup of tea and a portrait  Edward Mitchell Bannister, a founder of the Providence Art Club beside her. Wearing a wig and attire of the 1800s, Barada portrayed Christianna Carteaux Bannister, 1819-1902,  a businesswoman, hairdresser and abolitionist. In a relaxed and conversational way she talked of the underground railway to free slaves and the years following the Civil War.  Barada attended the Harlem School for the Arts, Dance Theater od Harlem and the Boston Conservatory of Music for Dance and Theater. The Warwick Historical Society and the library cosponsored the event. (Warwick Beacon photos)
