This past Sunday, more 60 people attended Bowling for Animals, Town Hall Lanes to benefit Defenders of Animals. The event raised $1,490 with bowlers and donations. The total amount will be used for Defenders of Animals, Inc., low-cost spay/neuter program for cats, dogs and feral cats. There were 60 bowlers who signed up through Defenders of Animals. Defenders of Animals is the statewide organization, founded by Dennis Tabella and Patricia A. Tabella, that works to defend the rights of both companion animals and wildlife through education, legal and legislative activism. The organization promotes adoptions made through municipal animal shelters, Rhode Island organizations that adopt out dogs and cats from Rhode Island, spaying/neutering, keeping dogs and cats up to date on inoculations and microchipping dogs and cats.
