Susan A. (Gilo) Bernard, 67, of Warwick, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 20, 2025. She was the beloved wife of John Bernard, with whom she shared many cherished years.

Born and raised in Warwick, Susan was the daughter of the late Marjorie (MacDonald) Gilo. With a natural warmth and patience, she dedicated 24 years of her life to working in childcare, nurturing young minds with compassion and care.

Susan was known for her love of cards and bingo at her apartment complex. She had a special way of staying connected with friends and family, no matter the distance. She was a spirited traveler, Susan especially enjoyed visiting California, and she found great peace and joy being near the water—whether it was relaxing by the pool or sitting quietly at the shore. She had a big heart, a sharp wit, and a wonderful sense of humor that kept those around her smiling. Susan's giving nature extended to everyone she met, and her love for her family, friends, and her cherished cat, Lucy, was unwavering. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her kindness, laughter, and love will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her loving daughters, Jennifer Gilo and her spouse Robert Ayotte, Kimberly Gilo and Joaquin Meza, and Samantha Motulski and her husband Zachary; cherished grandchildren, Jair and Lola Meza, Jailah, Delaney and Ezekiel Motulski; as well as five siblings and two step children.

Her Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025, at 11:00am, followed by a Chapel Service at 11:30am, in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave, Warwick. Burial will take place immediately following in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cumberland. Relatives and friends are invited to gather for Visitation in the Funeral Home on Thursday, June 26, 2025, from 4-7pm.
