St. Mark’s Episcopal Church will host an outdoor vendor fair on the lawn of West Shore Health Center located at 109 West Shore Road. On Sunday, Aug. 22 at 6 p.m., accomplished musicians, including a Grammy-winning bassist will fill the air with joyful and beautiful melodies. The outdoor concert will take place on the lawn at Asbury UMC in Gaspee Plateau (123 Ann Mary Brown Drive). Church parking lot and restrooms will be available to the public, but it’s encouraged that attendees bring a picnic blanket or lawn chairs.
The concert is being held to help support free music schools at Zion Korean United Methodist Church and Haven United Methodist Church. Both churches will open free music schools for everyone. West Bay Chorale will hold their 2021-2022 season kickoff and pre-registration meeting on Monday, Aug. 23 at 7 p.m. The meeting will take place at St. Kevin Church located at 333 Sandy Lane. Current choristers as well as those interested in joining the Chorale are invited to pre-register and learn the details. Information regarding COVID-related rules will also be shared. Artistic director Eric Vandervort and the chorale’s board of directors will lead the meeting. All current singers and those interested in joining must be vaccinated, show proof of vaccination, and must wear a mask.
Toll Gate High School will hold a New Student Orientation on August 24, 25, and 26 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Robert J. Shaprio Cultural Center at the school. The orientation will include a brief presentation by school administration, a discussion of Graduation by Proficiency requirements, and the activities offered at the school. Toll Gate Student Ambassadors will conduct a tour of the school for parents and students.

A walk to call attention to food insecurity and raise funds for local pantries is being planned by a group of area churches: Woodbury Union, Lakewood Baptist, St. Benedict, St. Kevin, and St. Mark’s. The walk will be held on Saturday, Oct. 16. Ann Eckert Brown has opened her new exhibit, Painted Rooms of Rhode Island, at the Warwick Public Library. The free exhibit will run from now until the end of August. From Sunday, November 7 to Tuesday, November 9, AARP is hosting a trip to Atlantic City. On the 7th, attendees will depart at 7:30 a.m. from the I-95 Park & Ride at Exit 6A, Coventry and travel to Atlantic City’s first casino, Resorts. The Warwick Veterans Memorial High School class of 1960 reunion has been rescheduled for Saturday, Sept. 18. The event will be held at Rhodes on the Pawtuxet at 1 Rhodes Place.
