Make your own Boxwood Centerpiece from home

Posted

There is an expression coined by the great Benjamin Franklin which goes: “If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail!”  If there was ever a time when making plans is difficult, it is today while we are still desperately muddling our way through another wave of the pandemic.  It is especially challenging to make plans with loved ones now because of the new directives coming from the governor, but also because of the common sense that must dictate all our plans in these unusual times.

As disruptive as these times have been on individual plans, the pandemic has especially interrupted the plans and lives of small business owners like John Dick of Atwood Florist. John has been bringing beauty and color into the homes of Johnston residents (and well beyond) for thirty years, and over the course of those thirty years has never been impacted as strongly as he has since the outbreak began.

But John is resilient, and creative, and innovative.  He has not let life get him down and has been willingly adjust his plans to fit the situation since the start.  His “Boxwood Centerpiece-Making” workshops are a perfect example of this flexibility and rethinking.

When tighter restrictions were placed on gatherings, John took his popular centerpiece-making workshops and reinvented them!  While a few, scaled-down workshops are being held at the shop for those who share the same household, many have changed their plans!  So John now offers these Boxwood Centerpiece-making TAKE HOME KITS!  Genius!  No need to go without these beautiful, festive, and live displays this holiday season!  You can still create your own centerpiece in the comfort of your own home!

If you had already signed up for a workshop, or if this possibility now allows you to participate, give John a call today.  He will set you up with everything you will need to build a centerpiece to fit the scale and size of your table.  You will love the outdoorsy fragrance of the fresh boughs of boxwood and enjoy your centerpiece through the whole winter.

It is not too late to order your kit today!!  There is contact-less pick-up available so it could not be safer or more fun!

Another holiday tradition that John celebrates with zeal is the ringing in of the new year!  We need a new year to bring us joy and hope.  John will have his annual supply of Phantom fireworks available the week of Christmas through New Year’s.  You will be able to purchase them in the shop or call ahead and John will help you make the perfect selection over the phone for contact-less pick-up.
