Atwood Florist

Flowers for any occasion, all year long

Posted

The American cartoonist and write Robert Leighton once penned the words: “The flower that follows the sun does so even in cloudy days.”  Though it may seem like we are in the middle of a metaphorical time of endless cloudy days, the sun will shine again ~ and the very flowers that bring us such joy will continue to bloom!

Flowers do bring us so much joy, even when all the usual celebrations of life are temporarily “on hold”. John Dick, the longtime owner of Atwood Florist in Johnston, knows better than anyone the power that a beautiful bouquet of fresh flowers can have over our hearts and spirits. After all, he has been creating and delivering these bouquets and arrangements for over 25 years.  Despite all the challenges to floral businesses these days, John is going strong ~ as resolved as ever to bring joy and color into the lives of his many customers.

As a floral designer for over two decades, John has spent countless hours creating glorious flower arrangements for every possible occasion, from births to birthdays, communions to proms, father/daughter dances to funerals, and every life event in between.  He believes that, even though the usual traditional occasions that call for flowers have been postponed, there is always a time and a season to celebrate with flowers!

He is a master of floral design and will create the most perfect bouquet for you to give away, or to keep!  Drawing upon the classic favorites, he can custom make an arrangement just for you, or you can trust his artistic flair and knowledge about which flowers go best together. He knows everything you need to know about which flowers are most affordable, which last the longest, which give your thrills, spills and “fills”!  He can WOW you or create something sweet and endearing.  He can do it all.

During these difficult times, John would like to thank all those who have stood by him, who have found occasion to send flowers to a loved one or have just thought to check in and see how he is doing.  Spring and summer are usually the busiest times of year for a florist ~ it is peak prom, wedding, communion, graduation season ~ so when the world seems to stop spinning, florists like John take a big hit. He knows that without your loyal patronage, his florist would be struggling greatly.

Finally, John would like to join his fellow Johnston neighbors in thanking the “men in blue” who protect our community.  With all the uncertainty in the world, his support of them is a true constant.

Atwood Florist is located at 1041 Atwood Avenue. John can be reached at 401-274-7300. Visit their website at www.atwoodflorist.com.  Same day delivery is guaranteed if you call by noon.  Hours of operation are Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm, Saturday from 9:00am - 2:00pm.
