Honor the mothers in your lives this Mother’s Day

Posted

An anonymous author once penned the words “In joy and in sadness, flowers are our constant friends.”  In these uncertain times, when the only thing that seems “constant” is uncertainty, there is little that can still bring more joy than a simple flower.  Roses! Lilies! Gerberas!  Daffodils! Alstroemeria! Tulips!

We use flowers to mark the milestone moments of our lives ~ to celebrate births, baptisms, first communions, proms, birthdays, graduations, weddings, times of congratulations, and times of loss.  Even in the middle of a pandemic, these milestones continue ~ and they deserve to be celebrated now more than ever.

No one knows more about the happiness and comfort that flowers can bring than John Dick, the owner of Atwood Florist and the purveyor of joy for over 25 years.  For his hundreds of customers, John is the one person they can depend on to create a breathtaking arrangement of flowers for a party, to put together a last-minute corsage for a prom date, to assemble several floral displays for a funeral or to gather a breath-taking bouquet of roses for Mother’s Day!  His love of flowers is surpassed only by his genuine affection for his customers, many of whom have been with him since the very start.

During these difficult times, John would like to thank all those who have stood by him, who have found occasion to send flowers to a loved one or have just thought to check in and see how he is doing.  Spring and summer are usually the busiest times of year for a florist ~ it is peak prom, wedding, communion, graduation season ~ so when the world seems to stop spinning, florists like John take a big hit.

But the sun still shines, flowers still blossom, and life does go on.  Mother’s Day is this Sunday.  If ever there was a time to recognize our mothers, it is now.  If ever there was a time to support John and Atwood Florist, it is now.  Though Mother’s Day is but a few days away, it is NOT TOO LATE to order your perfect Mother’s Day bouquet.  Contact John today and place your order – John will deliver within Rhode Island!

Even though these days are tough, John is still there for you. While he has reduced store hours, he is still answering your calls and taking your orders.  As the state slowly begins to resume some normal activity, John is available funeral flowers, sympathy plants, and arrangements for most any occasion.

Atwood Florist is located at 1041 Atwood Avenue in Johnston. John can be reached at 401-274-7300. Visit the website at www.atwoodflorist.com or follow Atwood Florist on Facebook. Pick-up and delivery are available.

Mother’s Day flowers can be delivered today, Saturday and Sunday.  Show the special mothers in your lives the love, recognition and thanks they deserve.  And while you are at it, show some to John too!
