Amalia “Mollie” (Mattera) Choptovy passed away on February 2, 2021 at the Cherry Hill Nursing Center where she resided. She was 94 years old. Mollie was the wife of the late Leo Choptovy and the daughter of the late Nicola and Madeline (Ciaramello) Mattera.

She was born, lived and died in the Town of Johnston and loved it so much so that she continually refused to pack up and move to Cape Cod where she and Leo owned a summer home. She loved to cook and was especially known for her pizza which was always at the ready for anyone who visited. A regular fixture in the kitchen at the stove and always in an apron prepared to cook and serve you when you visited. She was a beautiful young woman with an infectious laugh who aged gracefully and maintained her beauty throughout her life

She had one daughter, Pamela Aultman who passed away at a very early age and a son, Leo Choptovy and his wife Lynn.

Mollie was predeceased by her sisters Laura Albanese, Mary DiBiasio, Madeline DelFino and her brother Anthony Mattera.

Rest now Mollie at peace with the angels and know that we will never forget you and will keep you in our hearts and prayers forever.

A Memorial Mass will take place when COVID restrictions are lifted.
